Obesity and the inability to lose weight are far more complex than you would imagine. Slogans such as "calories in, calories out" or "eat less, exercise more" have little impact on the growing obesity epidemic in America and world wide.
Excess weight gain is caused by inflammation within the fat cells. When inflamed fat cells go bad, they trigger systemic inflammation throughout the body. The inflammation increases numerous health risks, such as heart attack diabetes and cancers. Controlling inflammation in the fat cells requires an understanding on how food is processed inside our bodies, and how metabolic hormones regulate the inflammation. It is not about calories, it's about hormonal regulation that makes weight loss a reality without hunger and deprivation. No drug can reverse this inflammatory condition, but the food you eat can! If we can control silent inflammation within the fat cell, the desired hormonal foundation that controls excess weight gain, successful weight loss and optimal heart, improved brain and immune functions, then becomes a reality.
The Obesity Epidemic
With 2/3’s of the population in the United States being overweight and 1/3rd of them obese, weight loss is becoming an important part of our daily life. Obesity is one of the leading preventable causes of death worldwide. In the United States, obesity is estimated to cause between 111,000 to 365,000 deaths per year, and 1 million deaths in the European Union. Excessive body weight is associated with various diseases, particularly: cardiovascular diseases, Type 2 Diabetes, sleep apnea, certain types of cancer, and osteoarthritis.
BMI of 30–35 reduces life expectancy by two to four years, while severe obesity (BMI > 40) reduces life expectancy by 10 years.
On average, obesity reduces life expectancy by six to seven years. In addition to its health impacts, obesity leads to many problems including disadvantages in employment and increased business costs. These effects are felt by all levels of society from individuals, to corporations, to governments. This is not to say that the public is unaware that we have a weight problem in our country. Americans will spend between $40 billion to $100 billion on diet products alone. In 2008, the medical costs attributable to obesity in the US were $147 billion, 9.1% of medical spending.
Why is our Weight Loss Program different from the rest?
This is a weight loss program run by a physician. After all, obesity is a medical condition in which excess body fat has accumulated to the extent that it may have an adverse effect on health and life expectancy. We approach your health and weight loss issues from a medical perspective and help you overcome your battle with obesity.
Fad-diets just don’t work!
In fact, in 2007 a European study demonstrated that men who had gone through yo-yo changes in their weight had a much greater likelihood of premature death compared to those who remained weight stable even if they were obese. In most diets, you lose 50 pounds and gain 80, lose 80 and gain 100. It’s an ongoing battle. The key is to understand your body and its metabolic mechanisms.
Once you are educated on healthy eating habits, hormonal control mechanisms, and effective supplements, and are able to put it into practice,
you will see a change not only in your weight, but also your health. And the best part is that you will know how to keep the weight off and have more energy.
Who wants to be stuck eating card-board tasting food anyways? We don’t just give you a daily meal plan or restrict calories, but rather we assess you and customize a plan that would work for you. Many programs offer daily meals that can actually be toxic for your overall health!!
Although these meals are lower in calories, this does not mean they are nutritionally sound. More often than not, they are made up of processed foods and additives and once you stop eating them, you gain weight again. With our plan, you don’t needto stick to these types of meals to lose weight and feel great.
